Joanna Coles has been named editorial director of Hearst's Seventeen Magazine after the current Editor-in-chief Ann Shoket, who has held the position for seven years, stepped down.

Coles, who's also Editor-in-chief at Cosmopolitan, is to oversee the direction of Seventeen in her new position, working with Hearst Senior Vice President and Publishing Director Donna Kalajian Lagani. Shoket's replacement will be announced in the coming weeks.
